The Engineering Manager, Infrastructure directly manages the engineering team focused on LogDNA’s performance and reliability, a team composed of SREs. They see the team as their product. They may work on small features or bugs to keep their technical skills sharp and stay familiar with the code, but they emphasize hiring a world-class team and putting them in the best position to succeed. They own the delivery of product commitments and they are always looking to improve the productivity of their team. They must also coordinate across departments to accomplish collaborative goals.

Responsibilities

  • Actively seek and hire globally-distributed talent

  • Help your engineers grow their skills and experience
  • Own Incident and Change Management, RCA, and Error Budget Management
  • Hold regular 1:1's with team members
  • Work across sections within engineering
  • Author project plans for epics
  • Run project management processes
  • Conduct code reviews, and make technical contributions to product architecture as well as getting involved in solving bugs and delivering small features
  • Conduct managerial interviews for candidates, and train the team to do technical interviews
  • Contribute to the sense of psychological safety on your team
  • Generate and implement process improvements
  • Hold regular 1:1's with all members of their team
  • Give regular and clear feedback around the individual's performance
  • Foster technical decision making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary
  • Draft and track quarterly goals
  • Improve product quality, security, and performance

 

Requirements

  • Exquisite brokering skills: regularly achieve consensus amongst departments
  • 2 years or more experience in an engineering leadership role with current technical experience
  • Demonstrated teamwork in a peak performance organization
  • Experience running a direct to consumer service platform
  • Product company experience
  • Enterprise software company experience
  • Computer science education or equivalent experience
  • Passionate about open source and developer tools
  • Exquisite communication skills
