THE ROLE
As an Quality Assurance Analyst you will maintain the quality and reliability of the software that the team produces while working closely with several team departments such as Product Management, Compliance, Finance, Marketing and Operations. You will take part in various projects, assessing software quality by designing and implementing software testing processes. You will take ownership of code quality through exploratory and automated tests. You will hunt bugs, identify issues, report them, and see that they’re dealt with.
This position will be based out of our office in Etobicoke, ON, and will have a hybrid work schedule.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Lead the quality assurance efforts for our fintech products, including defining test strategies, designing test cases, and executing test plans to ensure the reliability and functionality of software applications.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using industry-standard automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, or Cypress, to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Conduct comprehensive regression testing to validate software changes and enhancements while ensuring existing functionality remains intact.
- Conduct load testing, stress testing, and performance monitoring of applications using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
- Build and maintain knowledge of licensed products and software systems as an output from testing lifecycle outcomes.
- Bug Tracking and Reporting: Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking systems, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Balance multiple QA tasks and priorities with minimal supervision while working under tight deadlines.
- Connect with Localcoin stakeholders for feature clarifications to close knowledge gaps between server capability and what is already deployed.
- Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and developers to review and approve requirements and user stories.
- Demonstrate proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, or Cypress.
- Utilize strong programming skills in languages commonly used for test automation such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Apply experience in testing APIs and web services using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured.
- Apply knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling for load testing and stress testing.
- Write and execute SQL queries for data validation and verification as part of testing activities.
- Utilize familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing test scripts and test data.
- Utilize experience with test management tools such as HP ALM, TestRail, or Jira for test planning and execution tracking.
- Certifications: Possess relevant certifications such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board), CSTE (Certified Software Tester), or ASTQB (American Software Testing Qualifications Board) to demonstrate proficiency and expertise in software testing.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience with Jira, Java PostMan
- 5+ years of experience as QA Analyst
- Relevant certifications, such as ISTQB or CFA is required
- SQL & RDBM knowledge
- HTTP Rest APIs
- Programming knowledge
- Sharp writing/reading/communication skills
- Bachelor’s of Computer Science or related degree
- Functional testing automation tools such as Selenium
NICE TO HAVE
- Intermediate programming skills with Java or Python
- Apache JMeter hands-on experience
- Datadog hands-on experience
