What will you do in this role?

As a Translations Project Manager you will oversee and coordinate the workflow and delivery of timelines across all courses for translation. You will be required to do some hands-on file management and potential troubleshooting to make translated content visible and functional on our platform.

What do you need to be great at?

Project Management

  • To control the overall project management process for translations and ensure that deadlines are adhered to strictly, providing regular updates to Project Managers, Post-Production Operations Manager and Traffic Director.
  • To calculate translation budgets and create translation quotes.
  • To request and review quotes from suppliers and freelancers, check subsequent invoices and then submit these to Finance.


  • To be the main point of contact between suppliers, freelance linguists and Lobster Ink; and communicate translations costs and delivery deadlines.
  • To communicate regularly with suppliers, freelance linguists and Lobster Ink regarding any changes to the work, problems or delays, and manage all relationships effectively and professionally.

File handling

  • To calculate course word counts and cost estimates for project managers and Lobster Ink.
  • To send accurate and complete files to suppliers and freelancers for quotation and manage the
  • quote approval process.
  • Upload and manage files for go-live.


  • To request and review quotes from suppliers and freelancers, check subsequent invoices and then submit these to Finance.
  • Manually correct files where necessary.

Skills / Competencies

  • Exceptional command of the English language (written and verbal) is essential.
  • Strong grammar, spelling and punctuation skills are critical.
  • Good working knowledge of computer systems (such as Word and Excel) - Mac use is an advantage.
  • Understanding of the hospitality industry is beneficial but not essential.
  • A proven ability in managing metrics and improving efficiencies.
  • Excellent time management and quality management skills are essential.
  • Ability to work to the standards required and as per the deadlines given

Minimum experience required

  • At least 3 to 5 years Project Management experience (compulsory)
  • A basic understanding of HTML coding (beneficial)


Minimum qualifications/education

  • University Degree (compulsory)
  • Degree in Modern Languages and/or Translations (beneficial)
  • Project Management qualification (beneficial)
