Responsibilities

  • 5+ years’ experience in Accounting, along with 1+ years in Revenue Accounting and sales contract review in a medium-to-large public company
  • Additional experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm is a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise with SaaS and subscription-related GAAP revenue forecasting, modeling, and analysis
  • Experience with software packages including systems such as NetSuite, SalesForce.com and Microsoft Office Suite and collection tools
  • Manage the daily and monthly operations of revenue accounting, reporting and related accounts, in accordance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies
  • Complete month-end close activities including: review of significant and/or non-standard deals, sales contract review and approvals, revenue and deferred revenue reconciliation, management reporting, etc.
  • ​Perform monthly revenue analysis and calculations, to determine monthly revenue forecasts
  • Perform a monthly review of Accounts Receivable balances, including collections, specific AR reserves, etc.
  • Ensure that revenue recognition is communicated, implemented, and applied consistently
  • Provide revenue recognition guidance and interpretations to company revenues, based on authoritative literature and company policies
  • Oversee the audit of revenue in the company's financial statements and revenue-related system of internal controls
  • Work with external auditors to support annual audits and quarterly reviews
  • Assist Sales and Sales Operations Teams in complying with Company policies and procedures with respect to recording of transactions
  • ​Work with account teams to perform financial planning, analysis and reporting activities
  • Prepare technical memos to summarize revenue issues relevant to major contracts, and provide appropriate conclusions and recommendations
  • Work cross-functionally within the organization on new initiatives and special projects such as evolving revenue models, strategic partnership programs and new product launches
  • Drive the technical application of revenue recognition, authoritative literature, and accounting guidance, including advising on transactions, contract language, accounting consequences and outcomes
  • ​Generate monthly revenue and related accounts reports to management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, automate, streamline and implement revenue process improvements and coordinate with other departments to implement solutions (e.g. consistency of information between different systems, SalesForce.com – NetSuite integration, etc.)
  • Effectively interact with senior management, external auditors, and various internal departments
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of authoritative accounting guidance on ASC 606 revenue recognition 

Candidate Profile

For success in this role you will bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Accounting, along with 1+ years in Revenue Accounting and Sales Contract review in a medium-to-large public company
  • Additional experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm is a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise with SaaS and subscription-related GAAP revenue forecasting, modeling, and analysis
  • Experience with software packages including systems such as NetSuite, SalesForce.com and Microsoft Office Suite and collection tools
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Familiarity with complex revenue recognition transactions (ASC 606)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical accounting requirements to a non-technical audience
  • A natural knack for numbers and efficiency
  • Demonstrable experience analyzing and interpreting accounting transactions and financial issues
  • Project management skills, with extreme attention to detail
  • The ability to shrewdly identify problems and apply strong problem-solving skills to obtain resolution
  • A customer-service-oriented approach, with high standards for integrity and ethics
  • A self-starter approach, paired with a passion for collaboration and teamwork
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and produce under pressure

  • The ability to partner with and influence cross-functional personnel
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance or Bachelor's in Science with related accounting/finance professional background
