Livongo is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually. Many of you have asked what Livongo has planned for the future with regards to working remotely. We wanted to share an email from our President & CEO to the company earlier this month. We believe that this provides some insight to our future plans for re-opening and our very special and unique culture.
The Recruiting Team
We now turn our attention to a thoughtful approach to reopen our business activities. To that end, we have been working on core principles that will guide how we approach returning to the office. We are fortunate that the way we conduct business allows us to adapt our processes to work remotely and remain productive within the changing landscape. Our Remotie Culture has given us time to step back, re-look at the office space, and be intentional on the right way to leverage our physical locations. We would like to share version 1.0 of our guiding principles on how we are thinking about restarting.
We considered what are our fundamental principles should be to guide our thinking and inform our decisions, as always the health and safety of Livongans is our highest priority. Below are the six core areas that we covered:
Principle 1: We must take care of our high risk population: We strongly recommend that all vulnerable individuals continue to limit their exposure units (interact only in small groups and with only the same individuals).
Principle 2: After government eases restrictions, Livongo will determine our own timing of when to return to work.
Principle 3: We need to be intentional about who and why certain Livongans should come back into the office versus work remotely. We can reimagine how we leverage the office space and convey guidance on the purpose: create community, encourage interaction, drive team engagement, or better serve our members.
Principle 4: We will be flexible and will do our best to accommodate the individual situation of each employee.
Principle 5: The office needs to have safeguards and protections to minimize exposure. We need to reconfigure workstations, redesign office equipment, drive comprehensive sanitation, reboot shared spaces, and follow new rules for personal spacing standards and protective equipment.
Principle 6: We may need to rethink business travel.
For now, we are asking everyone to work remotely at least through June 15th. We will keep you informed along the way as we build the plan to reopen our offices and follow our principles to rethink how to leverage our physical space in the era of COVID-19. The core takeaway is that we will keep each other safe and ensure the reopening of our offices will not add to our stress or create concern over our health and well-being. Instead, we intend to lead the way in how we have creatively approached office utilization.
