ABOUT THIS JOB

We are looking for a super sharp, highly-motivated, business-minded Data Ethics Specialist to fill the role on PIA reviews.  This position will support data protection needs, specifically helping administer our Data Ethics Program for ongoing Data Protection law compliance.  This role will report to the VP of Data Ethics. The Data Ethics Specialist will provide data governance, privacy and compliance expertise and support for LiveRamp. The role is primarily responsible for managing non-standard product and client requests and ensuring that they adhere to LiveRamp policies. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the “big picture” view of legal risk and data governance and protection and how it aligns with LiveRamp’s overall business strategy.
  • Provide data governance, and privacy expertise and support for LiveRamp's data products and workflows
  • Prepare documents, data flows, and other materials related to new client requests  for Data Impact Assessments ( DPIAs).
  • Prepare documents, data flows, and other materials related to products (new products, product enhancements, changes to workflows and new use cases) and prepare Protection Impact Assessments (PIAs)
  • Obtain necessary approvals (typically through PIAs) from Legal, Privacy, Security, and various business 
  • Work with various business units to develop business and technology solutions to ensure products and services meet corporate privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Assess and advise on the mitigation of data risks in new products and services.
  • Assist with data ethics, privacy and compliance reviews and audits.
  • Conduct annual data governance, privacy and compliance assessments of all PIA’s
  • Stay abreast of relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, guidelines, and industry developments relating to data protection, privacy, security, and data governance. Provide analysis of impacts to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and produce position papers and related materials related to proposed business activities.
  • Work with various business units to develop business and technology solutions to ensure products and services meet corporate privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Assess and advise on the mitigation of data risks in new products and services.
  • Assist with data ethics, privacy and compliance reviews and audits.
  • Review and mitigate privacy risks in connection with LiveRamp’s offerings.
  • Help develop and manage internal controls relating to privacy legal frameworks.
  • Collaborate with privacy and security professionals on projects related to ongoing compliance with data protection and privacy laws, and related requirements.
  • Create guidelines and playbooks for documenting and tracking global legal obligations, including privacy impact assessments and intake management, initial privacy reviews, and assistance with resulting privacy and data security controls.
  • Provide ongoing management, content development and oversight of the privacy training program (when needed)
  • Be flexible when handling directional changes and concurrently manage multiple large-scale programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An understanding of data protection, operational data governance, and privacy as it relates to consumer information. (Required)
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience completing critical analysis, review and editing of written documents.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner to develop strong working relationships with the business and key stakeholders to facilitate data compliance while enabling commercial opportunities and support them in improving data protection and governance practices.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to dive into the business, data workflows, and technology
  • Comfort with ambiguity, multi-tasking, and independence.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, manage deadlines, and handle complex escalations in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
  • Comfortable expressing a point of view and influencing change, as appropriate. 
  • Confident working in a dynamic environment, partnering with teams to move through the unknown.
  • Digital advertising or marketing experience (preferred)
  • IAPP certifications (preferred)

  • University degree
  • 3+ years in data protection and governance
