Overview:
We are undergoing a significant transformation, migrating our on-premise data centers to Google Cloud. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and customer care, to ensure a seamless transition. We are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to support our engineering and operations teams in this critical initiative. You will report to the Chief Technology Officer based in Mannheim, Germany.
You will:
- Maintain a comprehensive program roadmap to guide prioritization of activities and decision-making, outlining key milestones and deliverables for the migration journey.
- Provide oversight and track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) to manage and monitor the cloud migration initiative in alignment with overall program goals.
- Develop and implement a risk management plan, driving activities to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with the migration.
- Monitor project progress, identifying potential roadblocks or delays, and proactively addressing them to keep the project on track.
- Conduct regular program reviews and report progress to key stakeholders through predefined steering committee meetings.
- Track and document project issues, including root cause analysis and resolution plans, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Escalate critical issues to the SVP, Cloud Engineering & Tech Operations, and the Chief Technology Officer for timely intervention and resolution.
- Coordinate project activities by monitoring progress, conducting quality control, verifying and controlling project scope, and overseeing the project schedule.
- Engage with internal teams, external partners, and executive stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure each vertical team comprehends the overall project objectives and timeline and understands how their deliverables impact the overall program
- Establish and implement processes that promote team collaboration, the exchange of diverse ideas, and organizational transparency.
You have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent training or work experience. A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
- Over 10 years of full lifecycle program/project management experience in technically focused projects.
- Proficiency in multiple development approaches, with a preference for Agile and Kanban methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all organizational levels.
- Comfortable presenting to and persuading Director and Vice President-level stakeholders.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master is preferred.
- Strong business acumen, particularly in supporting business operations within technology companies.
- Proficiency with agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc.
- Extensive experience in solution analysis within a global environment, working with distributed teams.
