Job Title: eLearning Instructional Designer

About the Role – eLearning Instructional Designer

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and creation of eLearning content for our Litmus Academy learning management system. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and creative digital content specialist who will contribute to our growing need to certify our customers and partners so they can become experts in our product and champions of leading-edge IIoT data practices. 

As an action-oriented team player, they will storyboard course content and create and manage interactive modules and materials that facilitate engaging and effective learning experiences for our customers, partners, and internal Litmus employees. They will report to and work under the direction of the Learning and Development Manager to create content based on course outlines provided.

The position requires someone who is skilled at creating high quality content in a learning management system (we currently use WorkRamp), using tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effect, Premiere Pro, Audition) and Articulate 360.

Role’s Responsibilities

  • Write effective copy, instructional text and scripts
  • Develop storyboards to outline course content
  • Build interactive eLearning courses containing a combination of recorded video, animations, and screen text using a range of applications
  • Perform LMS admin tasks such as updating content and managing users
  • Develop working knowledge of the Litmus products and related technologies
  • Incorporate instructional models and learning techniques into course content
  • Apply educational principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques
  • Use course feedback to assess instructional effectiveness and suggest improvements

 

Role’s Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in developing eLearning for diverse audiences, such as remote employees, non-native speakers of the language of instruction and differing educational backgrounds
  • Experience in creating and delivering training on topics such as software, or engineering / configuration information 
  • Comfortable working with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify training needs and create effective learning solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of learning management systems (WorkRamp LMS knowledge is an asset) 
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Video editing software capability
  • Strong communication skills
  • A manufacturing background is an asset
  • Degree in Education, Training, HR or a related field
