Lithos Energy designs and builds advanced lithium-ion battery packs from the ground up for use in high-performance automotive, marine and aerospace applications. We build the things we design and manufacture in-house, in California. Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development and validation of all battery systems
  • Define and improve development process and documentation, drive continuous improvement of processes and products
  • Lead program planning, design processes (DFMEA, design reviews, validation etc), and program management activities
  • Lead hiring efforts and grow the engineering team, mentor engineers and promote inclusive culture of engineering excellence
  • Manage relationships with key customers and suppliers
  • Coordinate engineering activities with other business functions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years relevant work experience
  • 5+ years management experience
  • Direct experience designing and launching lithium-ion battery products for vehicles (traction/motive power, high voltage >60V), maybe exception for utility/grid scale batteries. 
  • Demonstrated effectiveness leading in a fast-paced, small team environment. Need to be able to do the whole process themselves; can’t rely on lots of support teams.
  • Strong understanding of underlying technologies and physics.
  • Very effective communicator.
  • Experience bringing products from concept through to stable production.
  • Experience owning designs through validation, first builds and release to stable production.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with battery design for multiple applications
  • Experience with manufacturing technologies for battery assembly
  • Experience with automotive or heavy equipment design and validation for those environments
  • Proficient with CAD / FEA (Solidworks), GD&T, and validation

Salary - 135-165K + Equity - Dependent on Experience
