Position Description

The Program Assistant will support LISC San Antonio’s work in affordable housing, supportive housing, community-based economic development, local policy advocacy and capacity building by preparing and processing sub-grantee and contractor documentation; tracking, monitoring, and reporting progress; and processing invoices.  The Program Assistant will work in close collaboration with other LISC San Antonio and national team members, and will report to the Senior Program Officer, San Antonio.

Responsibilities

  • Administering federal and local government pass-through grants, such as HUD Section 4, ARPA and AmeriCorps, to include: working with prospective grantees to prepare award documentation, including financial analysis; processing, invoicing and monitoring disbursement of funds; and preparing reports to track funding outputs and outcomes.
  • Administering privately funded grants to non-profit partners, to include reviewing and understanding grant agreements with funders, helping structure sub-grant awards, and administering sub-grant awards.
  • Serving as a point of contact for contractors, including accepting proposals, setting up vendor profiles, structuring deliverable schedules, processing invoices, and tracking payment status.
  • Demonstrating good understanding of corporate mission and culture and working closely with other LISC team members to understand and accomplish both strategic and programmatic goals for grants and contracts.
    • Assisting staff in various program processes including maintaining program records to ensure all office files are accurate and up to date.
    • Serving as primary contact for vendors, building services and others.
      • Ordering office supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining adequate supplies.
    • Providing additional program support such as research or logistics and assisting with trainings or events, as needed.
  • Participating in National LISC meetings and activities as required.
  • Supporting the Executive Director and other office staff as needed.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned. To accommodate our stakeholders, periodic evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university, or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in planning and coordinating activities and events; degree may substitute up to two years' experience.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable learning new technology and software.
  • Capacity to work simultaneously on multiple tasks and projects; able to prioritize and be a solutions-oriented professional.
  • Interest in the community development sector and the critical role of nonprofit organizations in driving social change and preserving the unique cultural heritage of neighborhoods.
  • Mission-driven –passionate about LISC’s work and is motivated to work towards funding the continued mission and vision of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity. At least 40% of job functions will be performed from the San Antonio Office.

Compensation

LISC offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and location and an excellent benefits package.
