The best Senior Accountant in the best team

We are searching for serial high achievers to help us to build out the finance processes to deliver fast and accurate results for our German HQ operations. We are ambitious and are always pushing to improve the speed and quality of information into the hands of decision makers. Your days will never be the same, but you will be working on things like:

  • building processes and systems to make sure we are delivering accurate and compliant results,
  • preparing monthly, quarterly and annual local results both for the senior leadership team, auditors and investors,
  • preparing and submitting local tax and central bank reporting, plus
  • applying your broad skill base to any challenges arising in the team.
  • Most importantly, you will be identifying weaknesses and opportunities in how we do things to drive the growth and maturity of the finance function as quick as the business itself (which is very quick!).
  • This role is flexible –  we will accept applications for a full time or part time basis and can facilitate a mix of office based and remote working arrangements.

We will support you to reach these goals through a thorough onboarding process, continued professional development (including English and/or German lessons), a company canteen for required brain fuel, the company gym for body fuel, regular weekly 1 to 1’s, exposure to Senior Leaders in the business through a flat hierarchy and a strong company culture that values feedback, empowers decision making and always puts the human at the centre.

So let’s talk about you

Ideally you will have 5 years + of experience in a professional services environment, or equivalent industry experience in Germany or a German company. You should know German GAAP inside out, have a solid knowledge of EU and DE VAT requirements and be a whiz with MS Excel. More importantly, we want you to show us how you can work in a developing and fluid environment, manage priorities and get things done efficiently by working with the right people on the right things at the right time. Lastly, business level German and English language skills are required to be great in this role.

Welcome to the team

The finance team at Lilium is a group of 7 wonderful people from 7 countries from Australia to Ireland. Together, we speak six languages fluently, hold company wide Mario Kart tournaments as an antidote to the annual budgeting process, and our regular team social events include hiking to Kloster Andechs and bringing cake to almost every meeting we hold. As a core member of the team, you will be working both on your own projects and with the team to help build a scaleable, cutting edge finance function. Just like our engineers, we believe in total redundancy so you will be training up the team on how to do your job and vice versa which means that although we are a small team in a start up, you can take a holiday without your phone or computer. You will report directly to the Head of Finance, who actually started as the Senior Accountant – did we mention there is some really serious opportunities for career advancement?

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

Because we do business with the government, we must reach out to, hire, and provide equal opportunity to qualified people with disabilities1. To help us measure how well we are doing, we are asking you to tell us if you have a disability or if you ever had a disability. Completing this form is voluntary, but we hope that you will choose to fill it out. If you are applying for a job, any answer you give will be kept private and will not be used against you in any way.

If you already work for us, your answer will not be used against you in any way. Because a person may become disabled at any time, we are required to ask all of our employees to update their information every five years. You may voluntarily self-identify as having a disability on this form without fear of any punishment because you did not identify as having a disability earlier.

How do I know if I have a disability?

You are considered to have a disability if you have a physical or mental impairment or medical condition that substantially limits a major life activity, or if you have a history or record of such an impairment or medical condition.
