The Role:

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced production leader who applies Lilium’s revolutionary product & business model to the development of a state-of-the-art composites manufacture.

In this position you will report directly to the Head of Composite Production and will work on a variety of projects and tasks. As part of this role, you will be leading a team of composite technicians while working closely with manufacturing engineering, design engineering, quality and suppliers. You will be leading work on building and repairing composite structures on a daily basis.

Your Day to Day:

  • Lead team of composite technicians and drive self-directing team development and learning
    • Responsible for ensuring team delivery to production targets and quality requirements
    • Troubleshooting and feedback of errors to the corresponding teams, cooperation for root cause analysis
    • Responsible for ensuring team, product, process, and environmental safety
    • Implement and sustain manufacturing data of the production system
    • Resource planning (mid- and short term) and recruitment
    • People qualification and training planning
  • Address and supervise cross functional improvement work in their responsible production area
    • eg. Work with Manufacturing Engineering to define processes, equipment & tooling, and repair solutions
    • eg. introduce or improve manufacturing standards and process requirements
    • eg. drive digital improvements and innovations while working with manufacturing execution systems
  • Support repair of primary and secondary composite structures
  • Drive composite manufacturing technology acquisition and new factory installation & commissioning in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and project management

 

Your Profile:

  • Educational background as Composite technician required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacture and/or repair of composite structures including 2 years in a leadership role
  • Must be able to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions depending on situation
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions and ply books
  • Experience with operating and maintaining a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, test equipment. Experience operating high volume production machinery preferred
  • Perform daily record keeping and create reports and test analysis
  • Work on any ad-hoc related tasks or projects provided by management
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with excellent analytic problem-solving skills and a high sense of urgency
  • Fluent English required, German language is a plus
