Lightspeed is seeking a full-time Accountant. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the ideal person to join us is self-motivated, possesses strong organizational skills, and is extremely attentive to detail. The working environment is dynamic, and daily tasks include a variety of accounting duties. As an Accountant, you will:

  • Be in charge of the monthly close procedures
  • Review Accounts Payables bill entry and prepare for payment
  • Handle bank reconciliations
  • Perform payments and accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Perform accounting for payroll
  • Prepare monthly sales taxes filings
  • Consistently improve our control environment
  • Be an active participant in the automation projects
  • Assist and perform in a wide variety of accounting tasks

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar position
  • DEC or B.Comm in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of automated accounting systems
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
  • Adept at handling sensitive documents
  • Fluency in English

Assets:

  • Fluency in French
  • Experience with Netsuite
  • Knowledge of payroll accounting
