Overview 

Lightship is the premier provider of enterprise level, technology enabled direct-to-patient clinical research. In this capacity, Lightship functions as a telemedicine-enabled site within a research study, which makes research participation more possible for patients through the use of technology and home visits by our nurses. 

Lightship is seeking a social media and paid search expert to join our team as Manager of Social Media and Paid Search. The candidate should be a seasoned media professional who possesses a strong background and history of successfully building and optimizing large-scale social media and search campaigns targeted to specific populationsThey will work in a pivotal role, collaborating both with various Lightship teams, including Patient Engagement and Data Analytics, on strategic patient recruitment initiatives to increase patients’ interest and drive traffic to indication / therapeutic area specific landing pages, with the goal of generating patient referrals to fill patient recruitment goals. 

This position is remote, and a successful candidate will possess a willingness and desire to work independently without significant oversight. Additionally, this position will require occasional travel for company meetings. 

You will be responsible for: 

The Manager of Social Media and Paid Search is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, administering, and monitoring the financial performance of all social media and paid search campaigns. Responsibilities include: 

  • Building and growing branded and non-branded Facebook Groups / Pages that focus on the targeted patient population by developing relevant content 
  • Building and managing all paid Facebook ad campaigns 
  • Managing editorial / content calendars 
  • Leveraging social listening tools to develop strategies and analyze competition and audience segments 
  • Identifying potential high-impact social posts / responses and creating real-time engagement tactics. This includes writing attention-grabbing copy in our brand voice and tone 
  • Managing / responding to / deleting comments, messages, and tweets in a timely manner, while continually monitoring for IRB and ethics compliance reasons 
  • Actively searching for engaging, elevated user-generated content to re-post and circulate on Lightship-owned social channels 
  • Developing and distributing weekly and monthly reports which track ROI on a per-project basis 
  • Representing Lightship at industry events related to recruiting patients through social media 
  • Building and optimizing paid search campaigns on GoogleBing, and similar platforms 
  • Building and optimizing Online Classifieds and similar ad postings 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of Digital Marketing, Social Media Strategy, or Account Management experience 
  • 7+ years of experience using Google Analytics 
  • 3+ years of experience leveraging Online Classifieds to drive traffic 
  • 3+ years of experience in Life Science or healthcare related marketing  
  • Thorough understanding of all media buying metrics (e.g. CPM, CPC, and CPA) 
  • 7+ years of experience in each of the following ad platforms: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google paid search, Instagram, Online Classifieds 
  • Experience with building both B2B and B2C audiences 
  • Understanding of modeling and building Facebook “look alike” models using internal and third-party databases 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Google Certified 
  • Experience in direct response marketing to patients or caregivers
