This is a unique opportunity to build on and lead a core IT and infrastructure team for Lightmatter. We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Director of IT and infrastructure to support their Engineering, Operations, and Business functions in developing Optical Interconnect Products for the rapidly growing AI market segment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the IT/Security function and have ownership of IT networks, datacenter/cloud services, corporate tools and workstations, and security
- Define & execute IT strategy and architecture for all key operations/infrastructure areas
- Establish operational procedures and policies that are documented and measurable such as change management and incident/service request management
- Build a program to align to several areas of compliance (SOX, ISO, Security) and own Lightmatter compliance certifications
- Establish controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems and ensure that business decisions are made using timely and accurate data.
- Financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and spend optimization for Lightmatter’s IT infrastructure
- In partnership with executive management, establish an effective IT governance function including prioritization of tasks, agreement on service-levels, and development of metrics for measurement of IT & security value
- Oversee vendor relationships by managing selection processes, defining technical contract requirements, monitoring performance, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and standards

Qualifications
- 15+ years of IT work experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a computer field
- CISSP certification
- Experience in multi-site and manufacturing environments
- Expertise in AWS & other cloud computing services including cost optimization, and Infrastructure as Code principles
- Knowledge of IT Control frameworks and experience in defining and implementing IT controls for access & security, privacy and meeting compliance requirements
- Familiarity with Google Workspace & Microsoft 365 environments
- Experience in a startup and/or pre-IPO company
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across the LM organization
- Strong written & verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate IT issues and recommendations
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to move and lift IT equipment as necessary, including PCs, servers, and rack equipment
