About this Role
In this role as a part of the product engineering team you will be focused on High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) testing, developing novel wafer and package level testing strategies of Lightmatter’s Silicon Photonics products. You will also help in setting up validation capabilities and carrying out validation tests. You will be expected to support customer deployment and related technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for testing laser/photonics products, and plays an important role in bringing up new testers/setups.
- Perform the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of laser dies and modules, electronic circuits, and mechanical assemblies.
- Work with free-space optical components , test and troubleshoot assemblies and/or final systems.
- Help talk to vendors and procure equipment needed for various projects.
- Process test data and prepare reports.
- Help create tester documentation and interact with engineers.
- Run test-system lab operations huddle/meeting/tool scheduling to manage tasks list and priorities from engineers
- Support existing testers by performing troubleshooting, creating new product recipes, maintaining spare parts, and performing SPC and calibration routines.
- Candidate to work on-site in a cleanroom environment where strict cleanliness rules will be enforced
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in a lab setting with a solid understanding of laser systems, optical components, and related technologies.
- Experience using optical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, interferometers, and photodetectors.
- Experience in assembling, aligning, calibrating, testing, and troubleshooting laser /photonics test systems or optical components.
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix issues with laser systems and test setups.
- Understanding of industry regulations and standards that pertain to laser testing and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic scripting (Python/Perl) for data analysis is highly desirable.
We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role, including all US locations, is $40.00 to $50.00 . Your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
