What's the opportunity?

The Associate Director/Director FP&A and Business Analytics will serve as a key member of the Finance and Accounting organization.  This role will be responsible for managing the development of financial reporting including budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and other ad-hoc analyses, but also for supporting the Research and Development team in reporting and business analytics.  This role will also support periodic financial close activities and financial system platform integrations.  The role will report to the SVP of Finance and work closely with the Controller and other members of the G&A group.

Responsibilities

  • Act as strategic global finance business partner to the R&D departments, providing financial support to leaders to plan expenses, revenue and ensure foundation for sound financial decisions
  • Drive and deliver the annual budget, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning process for all LifeMine functions
  • Provide comprehensive internal financial reporting and analytics against budgets/forecasts and works with business partners on KPIs and actionable trend analyses.
  • Builds analytics and transparent reporting to drive forecast accuracy
  • Prepare and present monthly performance reports to management
  • Works closely with leaders and project managers to support planning and reporting for collaborations and/or business development agreements
  • Provide Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis with business insights and recommendations
  • Monitor and improve financial processes
  • Collaborate closely with the accounting and finance group
  • Analyze variances of revenues, profitability, and costs as well as deep dives as needed
  • Assist with periodic financial close and reporting activities
  • Integrate and analyze data and information across all LifeMine financial platforms
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability of all accounting cycles (people, process, systems, and reporting)
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure strategic projects and business cases are well informed and linked to measurable outcomes

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's Degree required; preferred Area of Study: Finance/Accounting, CPA, CMA or other financial certification
  • 8+ years of financial planning & analysis and accounting experience, with at least 4 years’ experience within Life sciences / Biotechnology preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting statements, consolidations and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in the support of complex business models or expanding organizations
  • Excellent analytic skills; highly proficient in Excel with strong computer skills
  • Ability to support strategic and tactical activities
  • Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and see projects through to conclusion in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly collaborative with strong business partnership, communication and influencing skills
  • Experience with ERP/ financial planning systems required. NetSuite OneWorld, Planful, Quickbook Time and system implementations and conversions a plus.
