The Position

The Senior Associate, Accounting Operations is a valued member of the Accounting Operations team which is tasked with continuously enhancing our accounting systems, reporting and processes so our world-class accounting department can keep up with the demands of LendingTree’s fast-paced environment in an efficient and automated manner. In this role, you’ll leave your traditional accountant days behind as you become a liaison between the accounting team, the accounting systems support team, the Sarbanes-Oxley team and other cross-functional teams with primary responsibility to brainstorm, plan, design, configure, test, document and launch various projects and initiatives in the Accounting department.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the design and implementation of accounting processes that support organization initiatives and accurate back-end accounting and controls for new services or products
  • Execution of accounting system enhancement projects, primarily within or related to the Company’s ERP system, including:
  • Working with all members of the team to improve processes and reporting within their areas,
  • Working with cross functional teams to understand and properly assess the impact of these process improvements on their areas
  • Working with the Sarbanes-Oxley team to ensure proper controls are maintained
  • You will work with the accounting systems support team to design and configure the process improvements and reporting, as necessary
  • Completing UAT testing and documentation
  • Training the accounting team and others, as necessary, on the new processes and functionality
  • Understanding and coordinating testing of new system features, weekly system changes and semi-annual releases related to the Company’s ERP system
  • Assist with accounting integration following a company or asset acquisition, as determined necessary by the Senior Director of Accounting Operations
  • Provide additional assistance on other projects that arise in the department


  • Strong ability to independently “think outside of the box” for system solutions and process efficiencies, while keeping SOX compliance in mind
  • Solid knowledge or familiarity of the various systems used in LendingTree's Accounting department (Workday, Salesforce, Sage Fixed Assets, Workiva and Hyperion)
  • Familiarity or experience working in an agile software development framework in Jira
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with working knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting
  • Demonstrates ethical and moral behavior; unquestionable integrity and character

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Proven experience with use and management of financial systems
  • Direct familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, including:
  • AR, AP, Accruals, Cash
  • Fixed assets and Stock compensation
  • SEC financial reporting requirements
  • Consolidation and Purchase Accounting
  • Sarbanes-Oxley

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Accounting Systems
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience in field; including at least 1 year in accounting systems consulting or in-house at a public company
  • [CPA preferred, license kept current]
