SENIOR BUYER 

The purpose of this role is to deliver significant cost reductions, whilst maintaining the highest standards of material quality, service levels and safety, working within a robust and proven set of procedures. In addition, you will be expected to promote the many facets of Leaseweb’s procurement function whilst at the same time develop and introduce procurement strategies covering a number of product portfolios.   

The Senior Buyer works closely together with local Logistic Teams, Product Management, SAP Support and local Management Teams. 

 
Responsibilities: 

  • Development and implementation of supplier strategies 
  • Manage supplier relationships 
  • Meet and exceed operational KPI’s in quality, cost and delivery performance 
  • Develop and implement supplier development programs to enhance relationships to use as leverage for future business opportunities 
  • Liaise with suppliers both internal and external 
  • Coordinate and complete weekly and monthly reporting 
  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements 
  • Management of end-end transactional process of key suppliers 
  • Plan, implement & manage benchmarking and tendering projects, RFQ’s and RFP’s 

Requirements:  

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Buyer position in the IT Industry 
  • Bachelor (or Masters) degree in e.g. Business, Finance or Supply Chain Management  
  • Must have a proven track record in improving quality, cost and delivery metrics 
  • Experience taking a lead role in negotiation of terms and conditions and Service Level Agreements 
  • Able to build good working relationships across all levels internally and externally with suppliers 
  • Track record of delivering significant procurement benefits 
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills 
  • Full understanding of tendering processes 
  • Experience in project planning and resource management (time management skills) 
  • Experience in working with cross functional teams, e.g. Engineering, Commercial  
  • Creative thinker, well organized and self-disciplined 
  • Flexible, reliable, and calm under pressure 
  • SAP experience is a plus
