The Role

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven BDR Manager to lead and develop a small team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs). This role is ideal for a strategic leader who has successfully operated in a startup SaaS environment and is passionate about building high-performing sales teams. The BDR Manager will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and advancing the careers of their team members, with a focus on preparing them for promotion into Account Executive (AE) roles. Additionally, as our company scales, this person will have the potential to expand their leadership by managing the newly promoted AEs.

This position is Hybrid based in La Jolla, California working in-office Monday - Wednesday, and remotely Thursday & Friday.

What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of BDRs, ensuring they meet and exceed key performance metrics.
  • Career Growth & Advancement: Create structured career development plans for BDRs, providing them with the necessary training and resources to progress into AE roles.
  • Performance Management: Track and analyze individual and team performance, providing actionable insights and feedback.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Work closely with leadership to implement outbound sales strategies that drive revenue growth and increase pipeline generation.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Alignment: Partner with Marketing, Product, and Revenue Operations to optimize lead conversion, improve outreach campaigns, and refine messaging.
  • Hands-on Coaching: Conduct regular 1:1s, sales call reviews, and practice sessions to improve prospecting skills, objection handling, and closing techniques.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously refine outbound prospecting processes, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
  • Account Executive Management Potential: As the team grows, take on additional responsibilities in managing newly promoted Account Executives, ensuring a seamless transition from BDR to AE.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience managing a team in a SaaS sales environment
  • Proven success as a top-performing BDR or Account Executive, with a track record of exceeding targets.
  • Strong understanding of outbound sales strategies, including prospecting, cold outreach, and lead qualification.
  • Passion for coaching and developing sales talent, with a track record of successfully promoting BDRs into AEs.
  • Ability to foster a high-energy, results-driven, and motivating team culture.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Salesloft, Gong, etc.).

San Diego pay range

$140,000 - $200,000 USD
