Latitude AI (lat.ai) is an automated driving technology company developing a hands-free, eyes-off driver assist system for next-generation Ford vehicles at scale. We’re driven by the opportunity to reimagine what it’s like to drive and make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone.
When you join the Latitude team, you’ll work alongside leading experts across machine learning and robotics, cloud platforms, mapping, sensors and compute systems, test operations, systems and safety engineering – all dedicated to making a real, positive impact on the driving experience for millions of people.
As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Latitude is headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, Mich., and Palo Alto, Calif.
Meet the team:
This Architecture team oversees design and sets the technical direction of IT for the organization. This role is responsible for what is to be built and will work alongside the IT leaders of Technical Operations, Cybersecurity and Network Infrastructure. They will provide technical leadership, drive innovation, and apply industry best standards and patterns to bridge the gap between on-premise and cloud architecture with strong experience in hybrid solutions.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with the business and identify the stakeholders and the needs: who is impacted and should be signing off that the architecture addresses the needs
- Work (potentially with others) to develop a clear IT system architectural design that is clearly communicated and appropriately reviewed
- Ensure the architectural plan solves the core problem and is well scoped to be achieved in a reasonable time frame. Note in many cases, this may require a sequential plan with a series of intermediate milestones that produce a tangible usable (but limited) system rapidly that can then be iteratively improved
- Ensure that we use the right technologies so we end up with a cost efficient, scalable solution that meets the core needs
- Work with TPM(s) and team leads to ensure the effort has appropriate resources, clear owners of each piece, and is scheduled with a realistic executable plan, and communicated broadly to the org. Note, we may often develop an architecture well before we execute the work
- Where needed, ensure we have a clear test and validation plan
- Update architecture and project plan as work executes and we obtain feedback that may change the initial assumptions or invalidate approaches
