LastPass is looking for a Software Architect (Principal Software Engineer):
As a Software Architect you will collaborate with technical leaders and members of the architecture team to ensure that all solutions are built on strong foundations, using reliable and proven technology, sound design principles, and appropriate non-functional requirements such as performance, availability, maintainability, reliability, and security.
The Architect role is service-oriented, and our success hinges on aiding others and teams in achieving their project goals.

Who will you work with?
We are a small team reporting directly to the CTO. You will actively engage in discussions to present business rationale for engineering requirements to various stakeholders.
What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?
- You will be responsible for designated areas of the architecture in our LastPass product, and it's expected that you take ownership by thoroughly understanding these areas, establishing and maintaining the architecture vision and future goals.
- Documenting and building consensus around architectural principles and clarifying them as needed.
- Coordinating architecture developments both within and outside the application domain, conducting early reviews of deliverables, providing recommendations, and offering guidelines and best practices.
- Ensuring that the architectural direction and governance align with the business, product strategy, and industry best practices.
- Participating in solution work for new initiatives, outlining high-level solutions.
- Identifying refactoring activities necessary to address technical debt, performance, scalability, availability, reliability, and security concerns.
- Conceptualizing and experimenting with alternative architectural approaches.
What does it take to work at LastPass?
- Previous experience with at least one major Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS) technology (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Experience with Microservices or Service Oriented Architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages from our current stack (PHP, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript).
- Previous exposure to both relational and non-relational database technologies (MySQL, MSSQL, Cassandra).
- Experience in designing and implementing high-throughput transactional systems.
- Excellent communication skills (spoken, written & presentations) can express ideas to both technical and business users to resolve conflicts between various parties.
- Experience in technical leadership and architecture within software development.
- Sound comprehension of scalability, high availability, and concurrency principles in distributed systems.
- Adaptability and creativity in solution design, including the utilization of emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in applying common architectural design patterns across various technical challenges.
