About the Role

As brands live and compete in an increasingly agile world, Verbal Identity is becoming an essential part of the branding conversation. At Landor & Fitch we've got a heritage of outstanding work, a roster of courageous clients, and the talent to move that conversation forward in inspiring and exciting new ways. Now, we're looking to add an Associate to our team. The majority of your time will be dedicated to naming for a major media & technology client, but there will also be multiple verbal deliverables for a variety of other clients.

You Will

As an outstanding practitioner of verbal identity…

You'll work on all things verbal: naming, taglines, nomenclature, messaging, tone of voice and training. You'll contribute at all levels of planning and creative generation, and learn the ropes of each deliverable, from start to finish. You'll get to know our clients' industries and work with other Landor teams to create the most effective work, and you'll even play a role in client presentations.

As a Verbal Identity Challenger…

You'll push the team towards fresh creative ideas, whether it's thinking up a new direction for the team to mine for a naming project, or figuring out which social media platform is right for a new message.

As a Global Ambassador for Verbal Identity…

You'll be an active part of the regional practice, contributing to brainstorms and telling the team about subjects you've researched or are otherwise an expert in. You'll promote Verbal Identity to the outside world from time to time, through things like Twitter chats or blog posts.

As a Verbal Identity Leader & Mentor…

You'll become a pro at developing freelance talent, and will direct interns kindly and effectively.

What We're Looking For

Because no job description would be complete without some bullet points:

  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Well-versed in MS Office, specifically PowerPoint wizardry (you can create a strong presentation, not just navigate the program)
  • Digitally shrewd (you've got opinions on new technology, and know how to use it)
  • Experience in versatile writing


  • Telecom, cable, broadcasting or media experience
  • Foreign languages
