We are currently seeking a Creative Director in our NYC office. Our Creative Directors are a part of, and lead, integrated teams, working on multiple brands with a focus on fashion, luxury, lifestyle and beauty.  At L+P, Creative Directors responsible for and maintain the creative vision and standards of the Agency.  This role focuses on the innovation and translation of brands into innovative, integrated work that brings our standards of fashion, luxury, lifestyle to life with our clients and represents our clients in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintains creative vision and standards of the Agency
  • Partner with internal Strategy and Account partners to elevate the creative work and brand, and organically grown business
  • Build and manage client relationships in partnership with internal Strategy and Account partners
  • Leads integration of work through concepting and developing media agnostic ideas and concept, developing the work
  • Extends creative vision across integrated channels
  • Leads concepting - drives the work with unique, innovative and distinctive concepts and ideas
  • Ensures that the client work is both on strategy and creatively superior and distinctive
  • Executes at the highest level of quality and creativity
  • Presents to client in clear, passionate and dynamic way, championing the work, the Agency and vision
  • Presents to CCO in a clear and dynamic way that communicates the point of view of the work and the core values of the brand
  • Manages presentation process by preparing outline, timeline and building team
  • Builds photo shoot team and lead at photo shoots
  • Establish retouching direction and oversee process with Production
  • Directing Studio in understanding designs
  • Approval of all final layouts
  • Plans execution of all projects incorporating Studio & Production
  • Conduct design research and track industry trends
  • Must have a solid understanding and desire to keep up to date with innovation trends, industry trends, and design trends
  • High design aesthetics, typography, great taste, and interest in developing art direction and concepting skills to the highest level
  • Leads new business initiatives and pitches when necessary

 

  • Manages team of full-time and freelance employees by
    • managing their workflow and allocations
    • communicating creative direction
    • inspiring them to elevate their work
    • giving clear feedback that helps get them to the next level of their careers
    • mitigating conflicts within the project team
  • Responsible for hiring – partners with recruiters in building the right team and maintaining a high level of talent
  • Partners with Account Management from concept development through completion
  • Partners with Shoot Production in finding photo shoot team
  • Partners with Production to communicate printing specs and production ideas

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building great client relationships and work.  We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, who can bring our standards or work, and style across the pond.

  •  University degree with focus in Graphic Design and/or Art Direction
  • 10+ years of experience in the fashion/retail industry, specifically in Art Direction
  • Innovative concepting skills, and engaging presentation skills
  • Experience managing full time teams and freelancers
  • Natural communicator with strong visual and verbal presentation skills
  • Positive attitude, genuine team player with a self-starter and go-getter attitude
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite: Especially Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign
  • Comfortable with basic functions of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
