Marilyn entered the film industry on the Production side and joined LAIKA as an Art/Design Coordinator in 2019. But in 2022, she made the jump to Recruiting. “I was looking for a role where I could assist in the growth and development of others, particularly those who are just starting their professional journeys,” she says.

Originally from Norway, Kristian relocated to Oregon to join LAIKA’s Missing Link Animation team in 2017. “It was a very exciting opportunity for me, since I had always wished to be part of a big stop-motion feature film and experience all that comes with it,” he says. Working on Wildwood, with its “epic size and all the different characters,” has been next level.

An artist and cinephile, Leon thought he’d work in traditional hand-drawn animation. But an internship at an animation studio steered him toward a career as a lighting artist. “When I heard the lighting lead talk about exposure, color, contrast, lights, and darks, I was hooked. To be able to convey a feeling and a mood through lighting amazed me,” he recalls.
