Role

Ladder is looking for its first copywriter! In this role you will define the brand voice and bring it to life in all product and marketing communications. Working cross-functionally, you will combine strategic thinking and a flair for copywriting to ensure our messaging is clear and compelling. You will directly impact the growth of the company by contributing to experiments across channels (radio and video scripts, product flows, web, email, digital ads) — all while maintaining a consistent and distinct voice.

What You'll Do

  • Define and maintain voice & tone guidelines
  • Collaborate with product on UX copy and flows (mobile + web)
  • Collaborate with marketing and design on creative campaigns (social, radio, video, email etc)
  • Develop processes for copy concepting, development and delivery
  • Translate creative briefs into strategic ideas and copy variations
  • Leverage insights and data to optimize campaign & product copy
  • Ensure the Ladder voice remains consistent and distinct across touchpoints
  • Influence our content & comms strategy and execution
  • Report to the head of product

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in-house/agency leading copy for a strong brand
  • A compelling portfolio of distinctive copy work that spans product and marketing
  • Experience in a variety of media (TV, video, digital, direct, editorial, print)
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Diverse portfolio of breakthrough work with strong examples of creative solutions for digital, interactive, print and video
  • Proven background developing narrative frameworks and messaging hierarchies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with relentless attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and inspire teams
