These games have not only captured the hearts of Indian players but have also played a pivotal role in fostering a thriving e-sports ecosystem in the country.

 With a focus on India, KRAFTON is dedicated to nurturing the gaming and start-up ecosystem. In line with this commitment, KRAFTON initiated the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) in October 2023. KIGI aims to support 6-10 teams annually with program durations ranging from six months to one year. Additionally, KRAFTON India has invested over $150 million in the Indian market in the past two years and has committed an additional $150 million to the Indian start-up ecosystem over the next three years.

[ ABOUT THE ROLE ]

Krafton has already deployed $170 million in the last 15 months and have aggressive plans for investments and M&As in India and MENA regions. We are looking to add an experienced M&A professional to the team who has a strong interest in building a career in Investing or in the Media and Entertainment space.

This is an extremely high impact role that will require the person to take initiative, and significant opportunities exist for career growth for an individual looking to put in the required hours and effort.

 [ RESPONSIBILITIES ]

  • End-to-end M&A Execution: Independently complete the execution of a transaction, including handling the Term Sheet Drafting and Negotiation, getting Due Diligence done through vendors (Financial / legal / tax), Valuation Analysis (DCF / Multiples (Trading and Transaction)), Final Documentation Drafting and Negotiation
  • Periodic Business Reviews of Portfolio Companies: Conduct monthly business reviews of portfolio companies, monitor their KPIs, and keep track of their progress towards mutually agreed milestones
  • Drive Strategic Synergies with Portfolio Companies: Identify and driving projects which create business synergies of Krafton India’s business with companies in our investment portfolio. The person should be able to understand our Business in India, and think about potential business and strategic synergies that we can develop with existing portfolio companies as well as other start-ups
  • Developing and Maintaining Relationships with Various Stakeholders: Interact as a representative of Krafton’s Corporate Development Team with various stakeholders in the Gaming and Investing Ecosystem, including (but not limited to) Global Gaming and Media / Entertainment Companies, Indian Companies, Global and Domestic PE/VC funds, Founders and Senior Management of Start-ups, Investor and Gaming Associations etc.
  • Tracking Investment Activity: Being on top of Investments being done by other firms and funds in India and MENA regions across sectors, but with a specific focus on investments in the Consumer Internet space.
  • Maintenance of Records of Companies and Funds met: Ensure that the internal CRM capturing learnings and details from meetings with Companies and Funds is kept updated and all the latest details and documents (Pitch decks, financial models, financial projections, deal intelligence) shared by Companies / Funds are updated into the online database.

[ ROLE REQUIREMENTS ]

  • Post Graduate degree in Business Management from a reputable institution, or Bachelor’s degree from a top institution, or a Top-ranked CA
  • Prior work experience of 7-10 years in the Investment Banking / Private Equity / Venture Capital roles, or Investor Relations roles within Startups.
  • Track record of having closed at least 3-4 M&A transactions (in any sector) > $5 million in size, with experience in personally handling Term Sheet Drafting and Negotiation, getting Due Diligence done through vendors (Financial / legal / tax), Valuation Analysis (DCF / Multiples (Trading and Transaction)), Final Documentation Drafting and Negotiation each in at least 1-2 M&A transactions.
  • Strategic thinking mindset is extremely important - The person should be able to understand our Business in India, and think about potential business and strategic synergies that we can develop with existing portfolio companies as well as other start-ups
  • Experience in Strategic / Cross Functional / Operating roles (even in start-ups) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are extremely important in a multi-national working environment such as ours.
  • Excellent academic performance throughout school and college, as well as leadership positions in extracurricular activities / clubs desired. Interest in Gaming and / or Media & Entertainment is a plus.
  • Two soft skills that we are looking for the most: High Attention to Detail and a Self-Driven attitude. Most importantly an attitude to go above and beyond in getting the little things done.
