Koru is seeking an exceptional, strategic, and visionary Venture CTO to lead the technical strategy and product build on new ventures. Our Venture CTO will lead engineering teams & collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to imagine, build and launch breakthrough digital businesses that disrupt markets and generate value for business and consumers alike. We’re looking for someone with the technical and leadership chops to help build ventures from the ground up. 

You will:

  • Work closely with our talented product, design, business, and growth teams to ensure that we are focused on building the right thing, at the right time, in the right way.
  • Champion agile practices that provide a foundation for iterative product development in response to key insights from customer validation and feedback from product, business, design, and growth cohorts.
  • Be scrappy!
  • Lead technical teams and help hire the best. Your prime goal is to bring the best out of the other engineers on your venture team to deliver a best-in-class product.
  • Hatch innovative products and businesses that directly address real customer frictions.
  • Participate in code reviews and write code alongside your development team as needed
  • Build a strong venture team culture that emphasizes best-in-class software qualities including testability, security, scalability, operability, etc.
  • Enjoy working in a diverse, dynamic, collaborative, transparent, environment where everyone's ideas and opinions are equally valued.
  • Cross-pollinate good practices and insights between multiple ventures to drive continuous improvement of our engineering team.

You will bring:

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in technical development.
  • 3 to 5 years hands-on leadership of Engineering Talent.
  • A track record of building successful engineering teams and digital products from 0 to 1.  
  • Experience working across platforms & technologies, such as web and mobile apps, SaaS, big data and/or AI and ML powered platforms.
  • Be a polyglot! Hands-on development and delivery experience with a broad mix of languages.
  • Experience with architectural design while leading and inspiring engineering teams.
  • Strong leadership skills that contribute to an open and collaborative environment.
  • Experience working with agile, lean and continuous delivery approaches.
  • An ability to embrace and reduce uncertainty through continual validated learning.
