The role

Our company is seeking an experienced Lead .NET Engineer to lead a small team of engineers to help us deliver a new portal for one of our most important customers. The initial project’s challenge is to build a best-in-class Blazor application for an important part of a large UK bank and is a key part of our business’s strategy in continuing to lead technological transformation in the UK mortgage industry.

Collaborating with various stakeholders both within and outside our company, you’ll be a critical member of our team in ensuring the project’s success.

About you

As a Lead .NET Engineer at our company, you'll play a crucial role in driving the success of our projects. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with our expert team and Quality Assurance Engineers, delivering high-quality code, and adhering to engineering best practices. Let's dive into the details of how you'll contribute to our mission of technological excellence and innovation:

  • Lead a small, expert team of .NET and QA engineers
  • Own and deliver high quality code from yourself and team members; this is very much a hands-on role
  • Adhere to engineering best principles and practices
  • Conduct code reviews and be the gatekeeper for all commits and pull requests and enforcement of version control.
  • Collaborate with the wider team, including management, technical architect, quality assurance engineers, and product and design owners, to ensure the product delivery matches or exceeds expected requirements, meeting planned delivery timelines
  • Ensure required documentation is complete and accurate
  • Act as a mentor to more junior team members, promoting quality and excellence
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce policies related to project technical requirements and customer expectations
  • Ensure product is built using appropriate render modes per page/component
  • Ensure code maintains high levels (min. 80%) of unit test coverage)
  • Follow specific policies regarding the project’s technical requirements

Key Skills:

  • A wide-ranging experience of designing, developing, deploying and supporting websites, web-applications and middleware components/services using .NET and C# (version 6 and above, preferably version 8) (minimum 7 years)
  • Building front end applications using Blazor (version 6 and above, preferably version 8)
  • Bootstrap CSS (with Sass)
  • Experience in authoring APIs / Services and Automating Unit Testing
  • Experience integrating with Azure API Management, Active Directory, and App Insights.
  • Experience with SonarCloud and Snyk
  • Awareness of best practices around developing secure software
  • Committed to software quality, documentation and hitting deadlines
  • Nice to have: Experience in designing and implementing DevSecOps / CI/CD across the lifecycle.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of software engineering using Microsoft technologies
