The Role

We have built the KONUX Predictive Maintenance System for rail switches, the first AI-based solution for the rail industry. As development never stops, we are looking for a Development Engineer with electrical engineering background and a multidisciplinary mindset to drive the project forward. You will be part of a team that develops cutting edge IIoT technology in a railway environment to enable the digital transformation of our customers. The ideal candidate is “hands-on” and loves to evaluate and test the potential components in the lab and real environment. This includes the certification in external labs to prove the high standards of the railway industry. You derive the technical requirements and manage electronics development and production partners. Besides this, you will act as an internal contact person for our Firmware and System Operations teams. When pioneering a new technology, the unexpected is expected. Your Responsibilities

  • Conducting market research regarding standards, protocols and suitable hardware components
  • Performing feasibility studies and tradeoff analyses between solutions 
  • Selection and validation of electronics components
  • Refining and finalizing technical requirements for our IIoT device and its components
  • Contributing to selection and management of hardware development partners
  • Act as point of contact for external partners with regards to production supervision and support
  • Internal technical support, incl. failure analysis with our system operations team

Your Profile

  • Degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Approx. 2 to 5 years of experience in the field of Hardware Research and Development 
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Very good understanding of multidisciplinary topics that include mechanics, electronics and software
  • Holistic understanding of requirements from mechanics and software 
  • Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional and agile environment
  • Basic knowledge of at least one programming language, like C/C++ or similar
  • Good communication skills, incl. business fluency in English, German is a plus
