Job Summary:

Kobalt Music is looking to hire a Product Manager to work alongside a peer group of Product Managers, delivery managers and technologists.

This role will be to work across both Kobalt’s publishing business and their global digital collection society, AMRA. As a Product Manager at Kobalt, your responsibility would be to plan the roadmap and backlog for your area of the business, work closely with the Kobalt organisation to gather/document requirements and partner with the Kobalt publishing engineering team to deliver products successfully.

This role would be working with the Catalogue Pipeline team. This team is focused on building, maintaining and operating a scalable, automated and performant pipeline to allow Kobalt and AMRA to register their repertoire around the world. This role is varied and you will also work on operational issues from time to time to ensure the Kobalt business runs smoothly.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support and deliver technical product solutions to the Kobalt teams.
  • Work closely with engineering, product and Kobalt business operations teams.
  • Support the design and improvement of the products that are used to support both Kobalt’s internal staff alongside our Publisher and Writer clients.
  • Manage and resolve operational issues in the technology stack.
  • Customer first mindset and obsessed about building and maintaining trust with both internal and external customers.
  • Value and be a culture ambassador for Kobalt.
  • Play an active role in promoting Kobalt’s brand by attending and being involved in events and networking.

Skills & Experience: 

  • Product Management or Business Analysis experience. 
  • Project Management certification or Agile certification (desirable).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, technical writing and analytical skills. 
  • Proactive product management; the drive to seek out opportunities for new products or features – identifying problems and offering solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment. 
  • A track record of delivering products from early specification through to completion.
  • Ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, industry trends and technology developments.
  • Familiarity with Agile methods and the ability to promote new approaches in a changing, unstructured environment would be highly desirable.
  • Ability to share expertise and promote diversity while navigating a complex organisation.
  • Diplomacy and gravitas to engage and influence senior stakeholders and engineering colleagues. Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders from different parts of the organisation.
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA ticketing, feature specifications, feature prioritisation, backlog refinement.
  • Experience of industry formats and interfaces used by collection societies and handling large publisher catalogues, including CWR, CRD, MWN, CAF, IPI, CIS-NE (Desirable).
