JOB SUMMARY

Joining a growing Global Finance Shared Services team and reporting to the General Ledger (GL) Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant will be part of the team responsible for the core business units royalty reconciliations and accounting. The assistant will also support the finance team with other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

WHAT DOES A FINANCE ASSISTANT AT KOBALT DO?

  • Completing month end tasks / postings and meeting deadlines
  • Responsible for royalty balance sheet reconciliations and accounting for specific Kobalt business units
  • Preparing and analysing monthly management packs with variance analysis
  • Working directly with business unit Finance Managers
  • Key finance point of contact for operations teams
  • Assisting with preparing statutory accounts for year end
  • Ad-hoc tasks and projects as required

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?  

  • 1+ years’ experience, including through graduate placement
  • Experience handling balance sheet reconciliations and managing P&L 
  • Studying towards professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong team player
  • Great awareness of deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Aptitude for working with large volumes of numerical data

SPECIFICS

  • Based at River Building, Cannon Street, London EC4R 3TE
  • Hours are 37.5 hours per week. Generally, these are taken between 9.30-6 with 1 hour for lunch but amendments to these hours can be agreed on a case by case basis with line manager approval

KOBALT MUSIC GROUP BENEFITS FROM DAY ONE

ANNUAL LEAVE | Contractually 25 days, however Kobalt closes its offices for the 3 days between Christmas and New Year’s when staff contribute 1 day.
