Software Development Engineer in Test

Who are we looking for?

At Kobalt Music we’re looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test - or, SDET- to join our London Technology team. In this role, you will aim to maintain and improve the quality of existing systems to a highly successful Kobalt business unit. We’re looking for automation test champions to help scale our technology as our customer base grows. 

Our new SDET at Kobalt will understand all characteristics of quality in the software development lifecycle. You’ll join an engineering delivery team advocating code quality and addressing the complexities of testing in creative and technical ways. 

Our SDET will contribute by:

  • Working closely with application developers to establish and reinforce the automation development process
  • Contributing to the design & development of our test strategy, including the tools and technologies needed to support and transition widespread automation coverage
  • Utilizing continuous integration servers (Bamboo, Jenkins, etc) & version control systems
  • Being a key contributor to an Agile development environment
  • Applying experience with TDD/BDD
  • Making use of experience with data structures, data transformation, and practical use SQL

Testing is an integral part of our development process. We work in a collaborative environment where you’ll contribute to planning, analyzing requirements and, working alongside product managers and developers, formulate and execute testing as part of wider automation and delivery frameworks.

You'll be proficient in automating system-level testing of java-based high volume enterprise applications, with a broad understanding of java client-server technologies, particularly those used for client-side development. With a desire to get into the data; Interrogating databases via SQL and a talent for complimenting unit tests with automated acceptance tests.
