We are seeking a passionate Lead Infrastructure Engineer to help us design, build, secure and manage our AWS cloud infrastructure. In this role, you’ll be responsible for our infrastructure’s architectural direction, implementation and overall health. You'll lead the evolution of our platform by helping select appropriate technologies and guiding the rest of the engineering team in building scalable and observable systems.

  • Work with engineering teams to understand infrastructure requirements, provide insights and direction to achieve a balance between strategic design and tactical needs
  • Establish and ensure infrastructure standards (security, reliability, availability, and scalability) and procedures are met by our engineering teams
  • Design and implement proactive monitoring solutions to establish and ensure service level agreements and objectives are met
  • Identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization and cost reduction
  • Some on-call required

Qualifications - You’ll Bring: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure engineer role
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the AWS Cloud with strong knowledge of EC2, SQS/SNS, RDS, S3 and CloudWatch
  • Experience in AWS networking including VPCs, NACLs, Security Groups, Routing, Subnets, NAT Gateways, ELB/ALB and DNS
  • Proven experience with designing, building, securing, and managing Kubernetes at scale
  • Experience in building, updating and managing Docker Images
  • Experience with Terraform (infrastructure as code)
  • Experience building and updating CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of Linux OS and bash/shell scripting
  • Programming proficiency in Python or Go
  • Belief in creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices and programs that will further Knock’s commitment to making an impact, learning, putting people first, being open, and courageous
  • Have proven success working 100% remote in prior positions & are experienced working with a distributed, national team
  • You’re able to author, present and communicate technical designs and processes to both technical and non-technical audiences

Our Compensation Philosophy: As a fully remote (U.S.-based) workforce, our goal is to ensure that all Knockstars are fairly compensated.  Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for Colorado applicants. The salary range estimate for this position is: $146,000.00 - $210,000.00 USD. 

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
