Klara is a healthcare communication tool intended for healthcare employees and their patients. Our mission is to revolutionize healthcare communication and provide a better service to patients by allowing doctors to focus on exactly that, providing a healthcare service. 100% of our customers are located in the US and vary in specialty and size.
How does engineering fit into Klara?
We build modern web-apps in the latest and best technology we can find. Our patient and doctor facing apps are written in React, built with Webpack and hosted on AWS. Our multiple backends are written in Ruby, based on Ruby on Rails with some custom internals. All our deployments are fully automated and our code is tested extensively. We work in a scrum-like way and make data-driven decisions in an open and collaborative way.
Our growing user base and rapid product iteration mean that there’s always more work to be done. The fact that our users have high expectations, and the added requirement of medical security are extra challenges in design and development that make our work particularly challenging, but at the same time rewarding.
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” and we understand that, that’s why we have regular team events, annual trips... All of our employees are allowed an education budget in the amount of 1000€, that they can spend on personal growth and education in any way they seem appropriate (conferences, workshops, online tutorials, books...). In case you’re attending a conference / workshop as a speaker, Klara will cover all incurred reasonable costs.
