Director, Finance

Job location: You can work from Ottawa.

About the team

Kinaxis is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Director, Finance. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Director, Finance will lead the controllership and financial reporting teams for all Kinaxis entities and direct Kinaxis’ Internal Control program. An expert in public company reporting, compliance and control, the Director, Finance will be responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate financial accounting, transaction processing and reporting, and will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions. Managing others in the department, the Director, Finance will be a strong people leader with exceptional communication and leadership skills.

What you will do

  • Lead the global controllership and financial reporting functions for Kinaxis and provide key direction to Kinaxis’ Internal Control Program
  • Partner with Senior Leaders across the Finance team to develop and align Finance KPIs and strategic initiatives to corporate strategic objectives
  • Deliver quarterly and annual financial statements, MD&A and other public company filings
  • Engage in Board of Directors support and governance activities as required
  • Deliver a timely and accurate financial close ensuring appropriate internal controls and application of IFRS accounting standards
  • Lead Kinaxis’ Internal Controls program in partnership with external advisors ensuring fulfillment of obligations to certify under 52-109 and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Recommend and oversee process improvement and new system implementation initiatives; partner with leaders across the business to ensure adoption
  • Work closely with auditors and external advisors as required
  • Coach, develop, and inspire a global team of Finance professionals

What we are looking for

  • In addition to a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline, you possess:
  • Progressive Senior Leader in Finance, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance and Accounting in a global organization
  • CPA designation is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading a global team; exceptional management & leadership skills
  • Technical strength in IFRS accounting principles
  • Strong public company experience with US SEC reporting experience an asset
  • Experience in managing and overseeing controls in a SOX environment
  • Proven track record of implementing and overseeing IT systems improvements
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure, ever changing environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
