Team Lead, HR Services

Job location: This is a remote position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in Canada.

About the team

Our Global HR Services team acts as the central point of contact for all employee life cycle operations, maintaining our HR global policies and processes, overseeing our regional HR support, and providing exceptional HR transactional guidance and employee experience to a global employee base. Our team strives to create an environment in which all employees can thrive and do their best work. We are looking for a Team Lead, HR Services to manage the team that delivers on all these functions and is comfortable in both a strategic and hands on role, with a passion for innovative solutions and engaging and retaining strong talent.

What you will do

  • Prioritize team support by providing day-to-day guidance on first level decision and direction on global mobility, onboarding, background checks, employee data transactions, donations, employee files, queries, and other HR processes
  • Build and lead HR Service Desk (ServiceNow) and responsible to resolve employee requests at Tier I & II levels, operating under a TAT and escalation matrix framework
  • Develop the HR Services model and continuously onboard new deliverables in alignment with Kinaxis needs, in partnership with Recruitment, HR Programs, HR Business Partners, Finance, IT and other teams
  • Partner with Legal, Security, Audit and other internal teams to manage cross-functional global audit and compliance projects, including SOC, GDPR, C5, CGRP and other projects related to HR compliance
  • Review all existing SOPs, employee handbooks and processes for accuracy and clarity.
  • Ensure that information and processes on all HR Services assets and aligned platforms (Kinect, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Shared drive) are not only consistent and up to date, but easy to navigate and use
  • Support the maintenance, monitoring, and communication of Global HR Policy Framework in line with Global policy changes
  • Create policies for new regions, as required and ensure updates to existing policies are compliant with local employment legislation as well as address any challenges or opportunities related to policies
  • Support regional HR team members to enhance and develop the HR services procedures, systems, and processes, while creating global standards.
  • Understand our business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement and innovation in business objectives, productivity, and development of HR within Kinaxis

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in HR operations, employee life cycle, and HR transactions
  • 2+ years of strong people management experience, ideally managing a Global HR Operations/ Shared Services team
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and inspire growing teams
  • Proven functional experience with a large HRIS, ideally SuccessFactors, for Onboarding and Employee Data Management
  • Must have experience working in a global, multi-functional context - ability to balance global and local requirements
  • Ability to make decisions on day-to-day activities and escalate timely
  • HR project management knowledge, with an attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Collaborative approach and ability to partner cross-functionally
  • Ability to work in an agile, dynamic, rapid-changing environment by prioritizing situations which require sense of urgency
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to use sound judgement to drive complex issues to resolution and influence to achieve result
  • Embodies a “company first” mentality, and acts as an ambassador to Kinaxis culture and values
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in business management, human resources, or related field, or combination of relevant work experience and education preferred
