To reach students, teachers, and parents around the world, we are building the capability to scale our marketing efforts. We are experimenting with paid media to raise awareness of Khan Academy’s free, online learning resources, and invite people to try them. This position will be instrumental in setting up our media capabilities, developing an efficient and effective media strategy, and managing our campaigns throughout the year.
Develop media strategy and plan, based on customer insights and ongoing testing
Set up ad platforms to run campaigns, and manage campaigns day-to-day, with close monitoring of performance
Partner with designers to develop and iterate on creative assets to test
Partner with analytics team to develop ROI model to identify most efficient media platforms and channels
Partner with analytics team to ensure proper tracking is in place; consult on data architecture required to scale paid media program
Closely coordinate paid media initiatives with earned & owned to create cohesive, impactful effort
Report on conversion KPI’s (including costs), and learnings on a bi-weekly basis to rest of team, highlighting key learnings
Assist international markets in setting up, and building the media capabilities in-country
At the end of each campaign, report on performance, learnings, and recommendations for future campaigns.
5+ years of paid media experience, in the areas of SEM, paid social, display, and mobile advertising;
Demonstrated ability to build, execute, and scale media marketing programs
Have a test-and-learn mindset, with the DNA of rapid experimentation
Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to influence others
Data-driven mindset… strong analytical and quantitative skills
An entrepreneurial mindset, with a willingness to be scrappy on a limited budget
