Khan Academy is looking for an exceptional Senior Payroll Accountant for our Finance team. We are a small team with big aspirations to provide excellent service and quality financial information to our organization. We are looking for a team player who will play a key role in the monthly, quarterly and annual close and consolidation processes. In addition, the Sr. Accountant will be responsible for processing exempt and non-exempt multi-state as well as international payroll.

Responsible for the processing of exempt and non-exempt, multi-state and Canadian payroll including taxes, as applicable, using Paylocity and Ceridian.
Process and prepare monthly entries including payroll, benefits, taxes, depreciation and deferred expenses.
Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and general ledger maintenance including multi-entity reconciliations.
Prepare consolidated financial statements for review by senior leadership and the Board as necessary.
Oversee compliance with quarterly and annual reporting requirements as mandated by law.
Support annual financial statement, 401K, work comp audit and other duties as requested by Controller and CFO.
You have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
CPA desired but not required; FPC or CPP certification is a bonus.
Must have good communication skills and ability to interact with people in a positive manner.
Familiarity and aptitude in working with financial and accounting software.
Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities along with a belief that you can learn anything.
Distinctive interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
