KHAN ACADEMY BRAZIL

Khan Academy Brazil aims to deliver a world class user experience to learners that is locally relevant with content, programs, and resources for teachers, schools, and districts. Our platform is a supplemental educational digital resource that offers interactive activities based on mastery-based learning for K-12 grades covering Math, Portuguese, and Science, all aligned to BNCC. We serve more than 6 million learners across our websites, apps and youtube channels and our goal is to scale the impact of our platform by focusing on partnerships with public districts in Brazil.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Khan Academy Brazil is seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to fill the role of Brazil Professional Learning Manager. As part of our district implementation program, we provide professional development support for teachers, multipliers, and educators to implement Khan Academy in classrooms. Applicants should be passionate about delivering highly quality professional learning through virtual and  in-person experiences and should have a background in teaching, coaching, or mentoring  adults, analyzing data, and developing professional learning experiences and resources for educators. This individual will play a critical role in delivering world-class professional learning experiences for educators implementing Khan Academy in classrooms in Brazil. 

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality live and recorded professional development experiences to educators, driving improvements in teacher and district leader's practices in the use of Khan Academy
  • Collaborate with Partner Success and District teams to customize professional learning resources to meet the specific goals of district partners
  • Know how to adjust the format, content, and  tone of professional learning sessions for various audiences and mediums, including in-person, live virtual, and on-demand recordings in a creative and engaging way
  • Identify, recommend, and organize professional development sessions required for the implementation of Khan Academy with district partners
  • Continuously improve professional development resources (content format and  structure, online courses, training practices, etc.) by observing sessions led by others, analyzing survey responses, and leading retrospective sessions
  • Leverage data analysis and insights from the usage of Khan Academy to develop  teachers, multipliers, and district leaders  on  instructional implications to achieve learning outcomes

ABOUT YOU

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with  3+ years of experience in instructional coaching designing and delivering professional development sessions, 3+ years experience teaching in a K-12 setting,  or 2+ years of experience as a school or district administrator
  • World-class training skills, including exceptional communication, presentation, and coaching skills with a deep understanding of adult learning theory
  • Experience developing and analyzing qualitative and quantitative feedback & survey data in order to inform changes to individual & team strategies
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks concurrently, from start to finish, with great attention to details
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, including a high tolerance for ambiguity, a penchant for experimentation and a bias toward action
  • Travel availability to deliver professional development sessions and collect feedback from district educators and learners in Brazil
  • Residency or willingness and ability to relocate to the city of São Paulo, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role, and permission to work in Brazil
  • Portuguese and English proficiency

You would be a great fit if you have:  

  • Experience using Khan Academy in the classroom with students
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, project management and productivity, and video recording and live video-conferencing tools
