Country Manager, Brazil

Help shape the future of education in Brazil with Khan Academy.  We are a nonprofit education technology organization with a mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.  Today, over 18 million learners, teachers, and parents around the world use Khan Academy each month. But we believe this is just the tip of the tip of the iceberg!

We are looking for an an experienced, innovative leader  leader to solidify Khan’s financial sustainability through philanthropy and earned revenue and expand our platform’s awareness and reach to students and teachers in Brazil.  As the Country Manager for Brazil you will take end-to-end ownership of driving Khan Academy’s usage in schools, from district partnerships to channel marketing, legal, and business operations. In this role you will also lead philanthropic and earned revenue efforts. You will lead a team of talented marketers to achieve that vision, and will report into the Director of Marketing and BD for Latin America. This is a full-time position based in São Paulo, Brazil with travel to Mountain View, CA.


  • Increase philanthropic contributions and build a robust pipeline of current and prospective donors to carry forward the organization into future chapters
  • Define and drive revenue models for the Brazilian market
  • Build, lead and develop a motivated, high-performing team of 4 to 6 across district partnerships and channel marketing
  • Own and evolve marketing and BD strategy to accelerate acquisition and deep engagement growth by our users
  • Drive growth of Khan Academy in schools via partnerships at the “enterprise” level (districts, states, government entities) across Brazil
  • Reliably deliver on or exceed annual user acquisition and usage growth goals
  • Partner across teams and functions to inspire and execute the marketing vision
  • Scale marketing and BD related capabilities to unleash growth and drive efficiencies
  • Be a key member of the marketing leadership team

Minimum qualifications

  • A passion for Khan Academy’s mission
  • Track record in driving rapid growth, and delivering on expected growth goals
  • Strong strategic thinker with proven success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies;  willing to roll up sleeves and dive in
  • Experienced people manager with strong track record growing and managing high performing teams and accountable for what gets started, stopped, and prioritized
  • Exceptional understanding of marketing fundamentals to drive growth (business development, sales, branding, positioning, messaging, segmentation, retention, digital channels, conversion funnels);  highly adept at constructing and running experiments
  • Native or near native proficiency in Portuguese alongside English

Preferred qualifications


  • 6+ years of experience leading marketing and BD strategy (B2C & B2B);  3+ years of experience in technology with experience in education or edtech a "plus”
  • Experience creating and executing high-impact multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels (advertising, web, social, email, in-product, etc.)
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial thinker who leads with confidence and a strong POV; has high tolerance for ambiguity, a penchant for experimentation, and a bias towards action
  • A quantitative and analytical focus, with experience identifying and building the right metrics and analytics to help us know how we are doing in real-time
  • Ability to effectively partner, influence, and collaborate internally and externally to establish shared passion and goals
