About the position

The Keyfactor team is looking for a Global Director of Tax. This position will oversee all domestic and international corporate income and indirect tax matters, including tax compliance, tax accounting, tax planning, tax research, VAT and sales and use tax for the Keyfactor Group of Companies. The role with work closely with our accounting firm. Keyfactor has subsidiaries in Sweden, US, UK, Spain, Germany, France, and Australia.

The Global Director of Tax is responsible for implementing and maintaining a worldwide system of internal controls that will ensure company assets are safeguarded and that all tax financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies, US GAAP and international tax guidelines.

The position is ideally based in our Independence, OH or Atlanta, GA office (hybrid model), but remote applicants will also be considered. Applicants must hold US citizenship or US permanent resident status. 

Responsibilities

  • Tax Provision – Work with external advisors on tax footnote and other tax items on the audited financial statements.
  • Tax Compliance – Work with external advisors to prepare and review US federal and state consolidated tax returns.
  • International Tax – Research, coordinate and develop international business development planning strategies, cross-border expansion, and transfer pricing studies.
  • Tax Planning – Research, propose, and implement transactional and tax savings initiatives to reduce Keyfactor’s cash taxes and effective tax rate.
  • Internal Stakeholder Communication – Work directly with finance, accounting, legal and people team to provide guidance and support on tax-related matters to ensure alignment with overall business objectives
  • Budgeting & Cash taxes – prepare and track annual tax budget including external tax providers, software costs, tax payments and all cash related tax matters.
  • Work with third-party providers to provide management consultation on tax consequences of deal structuring alternatives.
  • Maintenance and responsibility of income tax-related General Ledger Accounts including reconciliations and roll forwards.
  • Provide strategic guidance on income, withholding, VAT, sales, use, and payroll taxes.
  • Oversee tax calendar to ensure compliance with all state, federal, and foreign filings schedules and timelines.
  • Oversee worldwide tax payments.
  • Interact with Internal Revenue Service and state governments to resolve issues related to audits, notices, returns, and payments.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Masters of Tax Preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure preferred
  • 10 years of progressive tax experience in tax compliance and provision
  • Strong understanding of international tax concepts
  • Experience with tax planning and controversy
  • Experience with Consolidated and multi-state income tax returns
  • Experience with International tax filings
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Experience with M & A a plus
