Business and Relationship Lead

As an Account Supervisor at KERN, you are the business and client relationship lead responsible for ensuring alignment of strategy through execution while managing all day-to-day activities.  You develop strong, trusted partnerships with your internal colleagues and mid-level clients. You anticipate client needs and partner with Strategy, Analytics and Creative teams in solutions planning. You work with project management to manage team and business efficiency.


What you’ll do: (Responsibilities)

  • Develop mid-level client relationships across the client organization, building trust by anticipating and exceeding client needs through delivering sound marketing solutions on time and budget
  • Partner with clients to identify, review and analyze business challenges and objectives through understanding and contributing insights to competitive and consumer trends, business performance and changing industry landscapes. Bring a point-of-view to guide business decisions
  • Partner with cross-functional agency team to develop clear briefings, provide business insights and bring constructive feedback to ensure work is on strategy and meets client expectations
  • Develop your role as a trusted partner with your clients through demonstrating a deep understanding and interest in their business and industry and a deep care for delivering sound marketing solutions
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of CRM marketing principles
  • Develop cross agency relationships and become knowledgeable of Omnicom partner agency specialties/roles, services and tools
  • Guide and learn how to manage account health, including account plans, scope and resource management and profitability of your business
  • Manage all stages of development to ensure the work meets client expectations, is on brief, on brand and within scope


  • Attends and contributes to all program presentations, advocating the work and setting client expectations beforehand and managing feedback in the meetings


  • Works with Project Management colleagues to manage workflow, assign tasks and resources, ensure quality control and gain alignment

  • Savvy leading all stages of campaign development to ensure work meets client expectations and business goals.

What you’ve done: (Qualifications)

  • 3-5 years of Account Management experience in a digital agency/marketing services business that specializes in email, social, mobile, digital and print tactics
  • Successful track record of developing trusted client and internal team relationships while managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated competence working remotely to manage client business while maintaining strong relationships across the agency and deep relationships with clients, ensuring communication, alignment and results
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and provide business expertise and a point-of-view to the internal teams
  • Strong skills in managing all stages of delivery of campaigns, planning and analytic reports
