JOB MANDATE

We are seeking a creative, strategic individual to oversee product performance and innovation across an assigned geographic region. Reporting to the Product Director, the Product Manager is responsible for maximizing the overall performance of their region through cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, procurement, and supplier partners. This critical role will be responsible for creating competitive advantage and optimizing existing product to enable sales growth and ensure in-destination service excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for overall performance of an assigned country portfolio (marketing campaign conversion, direct close rate by country, NPS)
    • Develop annual portfolio strategy to maximize growth and mitigate operational risk
    • Optimize portfolio performance based on monthly scorecard results
    • Oversee product portfolio maintenance and freshness (content, imagery and copy of all services)
    • Ensure all NPS and staff travel feedback is monitored and addressed appropriately
    • Collect and analyze competitive intelligence data to inform portfolio strategy
  • Diagnose issues with country/product line performance + develop and implement strategies that effectively address the underlying problem
  • Develop differentiated experiences that improve our value proposition and design compelling itineraries that deliver the best possible value-for-money while meeting our brand quality standards
  • Oversee project handover to Procurement Operations for rate entry using shared formatting standards
  • Create and deliver sales team training that effectively deepens their expertise, confidence, and efficiency
  • Develop and nurture collaborative supplier relationships on a remote and in-person basis to facilitate the best possible business outcomes
  • Act as the business lead for strategic vendor onboarding initiatives, including determining the business requirements and leading the onboarding, launch and post-launch optimization
  • Represent Kensington Tours at international trade shows and conduct in-destination research and partner visits as required
  • Partner with Marketing in relation to PR, email marketing, print collateral, webinars, press trip requests, and other miscellaneous needs that relate to the portfolio
  • Liaise with FAM Operations to identify FAM opportunities and provide leadership in itinerary design (DE and agent FAM)
  • Liaise with DMC Partner Relations to address operational pain points and opportunities
  • Action regional product tickets as required
  • Ad hoc service and itinerary builds as required
  • Provide constructive feedback to Product Development Specialists related to quality of imagery selection, copy and technical accuracy

 

Qualifications

  • Deep destination expertise in a geographical region (currently hiring for two portfolios): (1) Japan & East Asia (2) Australia Pacific
  • Minimum 4 years of full-time travel industry experience required
  • Strong understanding of the upscale, North American market preferred 
  • Outstanding research and analytical capabilities, to maintain awareness of the market and competitors
  • Articulate, polished and professional with superior communication, presentation, and reporting skills; able to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of management (including Executive) both internally and externally
  • Strong project management mindset and is hyper organized in approach in delivering and managing product portfolio
  • Able to plan, work autonomously and deliver on multiple time sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a high degree of focus on quality and detail of work produced
  • Proven business acumen with a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Hands on with high energy, an entrepreneurial spirit and a positive attitude
