Job Description:

In our continuing effort to focus on the development of a growing global organization and business, we are seeking a Compensation and Benefits Specialist. This hands-on position will be responsible for planning, tracking, and administering compensation and benefits programs.  You will work closely with the HR & Payroll team to deliver best practices and solutions that support the business.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ownership and administration of short and long-term Incentive Programs and manage the year-end bonus file
  • Creation of Total Rewards statements, which includes supporting the design, development and deployment of the document
  • Maintaining bonus pay structures including coordination, calculation and administration of compensation adjustments
  • Facilitate orientation and benefits programs for Canadian an US employees and help design improvements on our benefits programs/offerings
  • Administer and consult with internal contacts and service providers on benefits programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Subject matter expert and resource for benefit and RSP related inquiries; responding to benefit inquiries and investigating issues with 3rd parties and benefit providers as required
  • Support benefits enrolment activities including testing and participant’s communication.
  • Keep abreast of market, industry and legislative changes and requirements impacting pension and benefits programs, policies, and related administration.
  • Maintaining compensation and benefit related files and functionality within ADP, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data
  • Developing and maintaining reports, and analyzing data to monitor the effectiveness of programs
  • Provide administrative support, data analysis and ad hoc reports
  • Perform other Payroll/HR duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Compensation and Benefits Specialist
  • Prior experience in HR practices
  • Certifications such as CCP, CEBS, or CHRP, or progress towards these, are assets
  • Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits
  • Adequate knowledge of current Canadian and US employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • Highly developed analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Team player that thrives in face paced, ever-changing, matrixed, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to balance strategic responsibilities with day- to-day tactical responsibilities
  • A proactive results-oriented individual who digs in and gets involved
