We’re looking for an experienced project manager who will oversee construction, renovations, conversions, and product implementation as KAYAK expands its portfolio of hotels. As a Project Manager of KAYAK Hotels,  you will work cross-functionally with global teams to ensure expansion projects and initiatives are completed on-budget, as-designed, and on-schedule. The ideal candidate will have some experience in the hospitality industry, but must be a managerial expert with the skills to communicate effectively with contractors, laborers, hotel owners, internal teams, etc. An expert project manager will ensure quality and responsible construction and implementation through the length of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally with product design, engineering, interior design, finance, legal, operations, and development to ensure quality product and service delivery. 

  • Excellent communication skills together with analytical thinking and problem-solving capability. Able to break down and simplify complex problems and being confident at presenting to a mixed audience of different levels in the organization.

  • Works closely with all stakeholders and project sponsors to understand the concept, objectives and goals for the requested project.

  • Manages initiatives including feasibility studies and scope development while also being a compliance advocate as it relates to building codes, ADA requirements, etc.

  • Owns planning and implementation of projects, including developing cost estimates, scoping surveys, project scheduling, and budgeting,

  • Must be able to multitask, analyze opportunities, define successful approaches, solve problems, and accomplish objectives with minimal direction

  • Oversees renovation, remodel, and technology implementation programs at multiple sites, with minimal oversight

  • Assists with or may be responsible for project scheduling and project decisions based on objectives which may include, but not limited to: site improvements, entitlements and permits, consultant selection, design team liaison, schedule creation and management, contractor selection and management, financial management including cash flows, anticipated cost reports, and budget analysis

  • Develops relationships with consultants/contractors/vendors to serve as a liaison between all stakeholders and facilitates effective communication between these individuals.

  • Provides appropriate level of on-site supervision to ensure project performance criteria are being met.

 

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management, or a similar role 

  • High proficiency in project management software (Jira, Asana, etc.), as well as CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup)

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Docs, Figma, and Notion

  • Firm knowledge of construction, architecture, or commercial real estate/hospitality industry. 

  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and FF&E specifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with internal & external clients of all levels, in a team environment as well as independently.

  • General understanding of sustainable building practices (LEED, WELL, etc.), ADA compliance, regional building codes, and permitting.

  • The ability to travel up to 75% of the time for work purposes, both domestic and international

  • A passion for travel and hospitality
