KAYAK is currently seeking a Country Manager who will help lead and promote our commercial activities in France by building and maintaining business relationships with travel partners. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of consumer behaviour, superior analytical skills and the ability to work closely with KAYAK’s global marketing, product, engineering and business teams. We are looking for an ambitious self-starter and who will thrive in a fast-paced and data-driven environment.

This position can be based in London or Zurich.

  • P&L responsibility for KAYAK’s brands in France 

  • Formulate and execute business strategies for the region, looking holistically across commercial, marketing and technology.

  • Promote KAYAK with new and existing partners in flight, hotels, packages, car rentals.

  • Have a passion for user-centric digital products, monitor the competitive landscape of travel search sites, identify KAYAK weaknesses, formulate/execute a plan to close the gap.

  • Maximize existing relationships in terms of revenue generation and form new partnerships to benefit KAYAK’s product and users.

  • Source and execute strategic partnerships to drive traffic, including affiliate opportunities.

  • Prospect KAYAK’s sale of advertising placements to new and existing partners.

  • Develop strong relationships and work closely with a cross-functional team, including marketing, finance, engineering and product teams, to identify, escalate, and resolve issues.

  • Measure and analyse business, partnership and product performance quantitatively, providing thought leadership on appropriate metrics and product tests.

  • Help coordinating localization efforts and optimization of the local KAYAK site, with our central tech, quality management and marketing departments, to provide the best user experience possible.

  • Be a real team player and work closely with other Country Managers in the region to identify and enhance synergies between markets.

Key Requirements/Qualifications

  • Embody the KAYAK ethos - Be Bold, Love Numbers, Win As One. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is a must.

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience (travel industry or management consulting or investment banking or digital marketing experience is a plus).

  • Undergraduate degree from a leading university required; advanced degrees preferred.

  • A self-starter who is able to work independently and navigate across a global organisation.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-faceted relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Good business nous - understand what is going on in the competitive landscape and how that applies to our business.

  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations as a project manager and team leader.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must (advanced excel and powerpoint is a plus).

  • Good financial literacy and familiarity with budgeting processes.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills combined with strong attention to detail.

  • Native French speaker & excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Be ready to represent KAYAK in conferences and press events.

  • Experience in global stakeholder management - ability to effectively liaise with a cross-functional team of technical experts, marketers, and senior KAYAK teammates across multiple locations.

  • Good sense of humor and likes working in an unstructured, fast-paced environment.
