We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to join the North America marketing team as a full time Content Marketing Manager. The role is a key partner to the Communications/PR, Creative, Digital/Media and Brand teams and will be responsible for developing and implementing content marketing programs across all marketing distribution channels to drive growth in North American key markets. The role is based in our Stamford, CT Headquarters and reports to the Director, Brand Marketing.
Lead KAYAK content and social media strategy and corresponding distribution plans across channels, according to our market KPIs and strategy
Includes oversight of content calendar for KAYAK blog, social media channels and other creative outputs (both organic and paid)
Responsible for crafting distribution plans for said content across email, paid social, partnerships, product (where applicable) etc.
Ensure quality & timely content, with a hyper-local, hyper-relevant strategic approach to development
Work closely with creative team to produce high quality content and coordinate production tasks (including uploading to blog, editing, appropriate approvals etc.) to ensure deadlines are met
Responsible for ensuring all content across all channels has received the appropriate approvals before going live
Ownership and Strategic oversight of all K owned social media channels (FB, TW, IG, YT, Tik Tok, LinkedIn and Hotels focused channels)
Increase engagement across channels, grow fans/followers, and execute social first campaigns to support both one-off large-scale campaigns and our always-on activity
Manage ongoing optimization of the social strategy, playbook, community management, digital content creation, social promotions/contests, partnerships, and UGC to improve efficiency
Lead in identifying required creative assets for social channels and deadlines for social executions, communicate these deadlines and needs with the creative team.
Identify on-brand social media trends (memes, hashtags, news, etc) and rapidly ideate and execute a response plan for KAYAK (in partnership with creative team).
Curiosity for uncovering emerging social media & digital platforms and/or first-mover opportunities with existing platforms.
Willingness to manage day-to-day social media channels, as needed, including social listening and responding
Lead copywriting for consumer marketing channel including blog, email and social media
Maintain a consistent consumer voice across channels with an eye towards efficiency of content
Experience concepting, delivering and executing integrated programs for leading consumer brands including: social media (paid and organic), content marketing, media, PR, customer marketing, product & digital activations
Support measuring organic content success through tangible (likes, shares, views, bounce rate) and intangible (brand affinity, LTV) metrics
Think through optimizations of organic content and work with media team to amplify high-performing content.
Support influencer and brand partnerships with creative ideas and content strategy
Support paid media teams with creative ideas and relevant content opportunities
Align with product UX/UI teams on ways to incorporate content initiatives across product and marketing channels
Act as the official liaison between EU, APAC and LATAM content marketing and SEO teams
Evaluate if and when content can be duplicated across markets and connect on best practices/learnings
Coordinate with SEO leads on ways to support efforts
Education, Experience and Skills:
4+ years of work experience in digital marketing for the consumer / internet / travel space; preferably ~3+ years experience in account management and/or strategic planning at a leading creative/social/digital agency
Experience with brands that balance immediate response/traffic objectives with strong brand differentiation preferred. Some desirable category and brand experience: telco; ecommerce; online travel; consumer tech; social media.
Proven track records of guiding social media activities from strategy to execution
An integrated marketing mindset, with a clear understanding of the interplay between offline and online, and paid, earned and owned channels
Passion for storytelling through multiple media channels, with demonstrated experience in brand and creative strategy, and excellent writing skills with an eye for detail and a quick wit
Strong project management skills, attention to detail, extreme organization and communication skills
Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives
Natural collaboration and bridge-building skills; experience working with individuals of varying disciplines: creative, production, finance, legal etc.
Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels – a hands on team player
Experience at leading marketing/advertising agency preferred
