The Position

KAYAK is seeking a highly-motivated, Associate Manager of Core Ops who will be an integral part of our North America Commercial Transportation team and work closely with the Senior Director to monitor trends and present opportunities that help move the business forward. 

To be successful this person must be a self-starter and able to thrive in an agile, fast-paced and data-driven environment. 

This position will report into a Senior Manager of Commercial Partnerships and be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts or Stamford, Connecticut.

Responsibilities

  • Work with commercial stakeholders to analyze and interpret data to uncover opportunities and provide actionable insights and recommendations 

  • Work with Analytics to create custom dashboards for various stakeholders

  • Create relevant reports to measure product performance, user behavior and business impact

  • Monitor the competitive landscape of travel search sites, identify KAYAK weaknesses, formulate/execute a plan to close the gap 

  • Identify and implement improvements to our systems and processes to increase team efficiency or improve the client experience 

  • Create presentations for key stakeholders including internal teams, partners and executives

 

 

Requirements/Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required

  • At least two years of meaningful experience, travel industry, online experience a plus

  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, perhaps you’re a closet numbers junkie

  • Ability to work across several data platforms and consolidate data to tell a story

  • Highly detail-oriented, problem solving and analytical skills absolutely required

  • Previous e-marketing experience desired, including an understanding of performance metrics

  • Consistent track record of exceeding expectations through superior project management

  • Ability to run projects of varying size and scope simultaneously while prioritizing appropriately

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation experience

  • Self-starter and ability to work independently

  • Ability to effectively liaise with both internal technical teams and senior members of the KAYAK commercial team

  • Confidently communicate and fearlessly participate in team discussions, planning, and brainstorming

  • Intelligently analyze data, identify trends and craft insightful recommendations based on your observation and interpretation skills

  • Ability to understand and utilize data to make and support recommendations

  • Good sense of humor and likes working in an unstructured, fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of VBA, Python, or SQL is a plus.
