The position:

KAYAK is seeking a talented, experienced and highly motivated Associate Manager of Commercial Partnerships who will be at the center of our commercial activities in Europe, building and maintaining business relationships with our partners in the Holiday Package Travel market.The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of consumer behavior, superior analytical skills and the ability to work closely with KAYAK’s engineering, product, analytics and other business teams. The candidate must be self-starters and able to thrive in an agile, fast-paced and data driven environment.

This position will report into the director of commercial partnerships and be based out of our office in London. The position requires occasional travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain partner relationships with European distribution and advertising partners in the package/holiday market with focus in DACH markets (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

  • Maximize existing relationships in terms of revenue generation and form new partnerships to benefit KAYAK’s product and users.

  • Analysis and monitoring of partner performance and proactive investigation to address changes, issues and potential for optimizations.

  • Handle day-to-day communication (email and phone calls) and performance monitoring (e.g. reporting) with assigned partners.

  • Identify and address gaps in content within the search results.

  • Develop strong relationships with KAYAK commercial, product and engineering teams.

  • Measure product performance using business and user metrics, establish relevant reports.

  • Monitor the competitive landscape of travel search sites, identify KAYAK weaknesses, formulate/execute a plan to close the gap.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • At least three years of relevant experience are mandatory, travel industry experience a plus.

  • Fluency in English and German, written and spoken are required.

  • BA/BS degree required.

  • Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted relationships. Some experience with contracting, negotiation skills are crucial.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and investigate issues and identify opportunities.

  • Highly proficient in Excel, Powerpoint and ideally Salesforce, Tableau and/or Cognos.

  • Technical background or relevant online experience desired.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation experience.

  • Ability to effectively liaise with both internal technical teams and senior members of the KAYAK commercial team.

  • Self starter, strong organization and prioritization skills and ability to work independently.
